Agrarian Reform Law (1932)

Agricultural reform introduced in 1932 that aimed to solve the issue of rural poverty through the redistribution of land. The law allowed landowners to keep up to 23 hectares of land, anything over this could be bought by the state-run Institute for Agrarian Reform and redistributed to landless labourers.
