If a defendant carries out the actus reus of a crime involuntarily, they will not be guilty of the offence, for example, if whilst driving a driver crashed because they suffered a stroke or epileptic fit, or if they were hit on the head by a stone of attacked by a swarm of bees, they would not be guilty of a criminal offence.
