Climate change
Climate change is when the Earth's climate (the temperature, rainfall, and other things that affect the weather) changes over a long time. Sometimes these changes happen naturally, but nowadays, climate change is usually caused by people. We burn things like coal and oil, which releases gases into the air that trap heat on Earth and make it warmer. This is called global warming. Climate change can cause sea levels to rise, make storms more severe, and change where plants and animals can live. It's important that we try to reduce our impact on climate change to help protect the planet.
