An increase in the demand for one product leads to a fall in supply of the other
An example is milk which can be used for cheese, yoghurts, cream, butter and other products including fertilizer
Another example is land – for example farmland can be developed in many ways, urban land has different uses including commercial and residential property building
Oil is used in many industries such as plastics and transport
