Corporate Social Responsibility | Recycling with a Festive Twist
3rd October 2022
It's the end of the production line for those annoying plastic wrappers for Quality Street - the festive favorite of so many households.
The Guardian reports here on now Nestle is taking steps to reduce the significant waste of wrappers from Quality Street by replacing most of the plastic wrappers with a paper-based alternative.
Nine of the 11 Quality Street sweets will move to paper-based packaging, which most local authorities collect.
The orange crunch and green triangle will remain in foil wrappers as, traditionally, they have not had a plastic layer.
Traditionally these were also the last two Quality Streets left in the box in our house. In fact we might still have some from previous years in a store cupboard somewhere.
However, we switched from Quality Street to Cadbury's Heroes some time ago.
Much better selection - don't you think?
