Frictionless trade refers to the removal of all import tariff and non-tariff barriers to trade, resulting in the free movement of goods, services, capital and people between countries. This involves an alignment of regulatory and legal frameworks to ensure that the same rules apply for businesses trading throughout an economic area. Frictionless trade is not the same as free trade.
