Geopolitics of Ukraine and Russian sanctions
10th October 2022
Two very good articles from the weekend papers, with contrasting opinions
In Saturday's eye/The Independent there was an excellent article by the commentator Patrick Cockburn on why the economic sanctions against Vladimir Putin are failing (including an explanation of why POTUS Biden apparently described his British counterpart as "dumb"!). By contrast, Phillip Inman on the on Sunday argues that then sanctions are in fact beginning to bite.
Both well worth a read for Global Politics students.
The Cockburn article is behind a paywall at the Indy, but I Have had a dig around and found it posted here.
