Leveraged Loan

A leveraged loan is a type of loan that is extended to companies or individuals that already have a significant amount of debt. The loan is typically used to finance a leveraged buyout, acquisition, or other type of transaction. Leveraged loans are typically provided by banks and other financial institutions and are often structured as floating rate loans.

Examples of companies that have used leveraged loans include Dell Technologies, FirstEnergy, and Caesars Entertainment. Leveraged loans are also used by private equity firms to finance buyouts of public companies.
