Patterns of Demand - WFH takes shine off Kiwi polish

When was the last time you polished your shoes? Changing work patterns and the rise of casual clothing and footwear means that the days of Kiwi shoe polish are numbered.

Expect a run in the supermarkets on remaining stocks as people suffer from zero risk bias and don't want to be left without even if a tin languished in a shoe cleaning bag for years on end!

A great example here of changing consumer preferences affecting sales and profits. Kiwi has confirmed that dwindling sales means it will no longer sell their shoe polish in the UK.

The company said it is a result of the increase in the number of people working from home and the growing army wearing casual footwear. Kiwi is said to be responsible for more than half of the world’s shoe polish and is sold in more than 180 countries.
