The Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a large desert region located in the northwestern part of India and the southeastern part of Pakistan. It is the 17th largest desert in the world and one of the most arid regions in the subcontinent. The Thar Desert stretches over an area of around 200,000 square kilometers and is primarily made up of sandy dunes and rocky outcrops.
